"Texture DPI relating to Image Size" Calculator

Post by TheQuestionMark » 16 May 2017, 14:14

Is it possible to have DPI/Image Size Calculator for Texture. Basically I have all the texture the way I want it for 4K on certain size. But if I want to downscale to 1080P or upscale it 300/600 DPI for print, how would I calculate to get it just right, from on screen to print. I'm still also confuse how do I adjust for mobile tablet such 10.1 screen such, if how to how use a texture calculator for it I think it's beneficial to learn to upscale 4K to 8K if comes up. I also still afraid that all texture needs to be upgraded 16K or something to future proof it and for future print if the DPI get any higher from printers.

Right now how the texture panel is, it's hard to calculate just right, based on percentages. When you have the texture just the way you like on a 4K Monitor and the Document Size of it. But not yet on DPI for printers. Or not yet on mobile devices such as Tablets or something like the "Sony Xperia XZ Premium " 4K Smartphone if you look at the main page of it.

Is there a math you know for Texture, Image Size, DPI? Image Size/DPI can toggle between eachother.

?Reclarification? Sorry if sounds confusing.
So if you're on 4K image 3840 × 2160, and you want to donwgrade it 1080P how would calculate it for texture base on percent as example. Or upgrade to 300 DPI on certain canvas A4 but liking exact resolution and appearance on 4K monitor, based Texture Percentage. Is there any way to see like 4K to A4 Document. Sorry if it sounds confusing I think the Texture Panel needs like a Pixel Calculation relating to ?canvas size? or ?DPI? or ?PPI?. The percentage is too arbitrary. If the Texture 100% Size what is the exact size of the Texture? I need the correlation of size to measure exactly from print or on mobile tablets.

I usually use this convertor : http://www.pixelcalculator.com/
If it helps...

(But I agree, it would be nice to have a calculator in TVPaint. It's in our to do list for a couple of mo..years)
