Re: Pivot Change

That annoying limitation has been bugging us for ever. You can work around it though. If your FXstack source is a custombrush you can adjust the pivot by choosing customhandle im the Custombrush tool panel. That is relatively quick, albeit not pixel precise. I sometimes even go so far as to load a ...

Re: more logic behaviour when deleting the first frame(s) of a layer

I don't object, but wouldn't it be quite easy to just split the layer, then delete the layer containing the first unwanted frames? That is a workaround I use , but as Paul mentions it is a bit of a pain to do it like that. I notice that the always helpful Svengali has posted a script to accomplish ...

the general logic in layer behaviour when deleting frames should be:
deleting frames lets the layer stay in position on the timeline

Re: EBsynth a powerfull texturising (rotoscope)tool

Thanks for posting this. I had not heard of it before. I haven't had time to even open it yet , but do you use it by animating a sequence in TVPaint , then export drawings as PNG sequence and then import to EBSynth to add texture to the images . (then they can come back to TVPaint as PNGs ?) I suppo...

Re: Recommended Video Editing Software

iMovie will be my go to at this point but I'm definitely keeping DaVinci Resolve software on the top of the list for potential upgrade. Thank you for your help! Something I thought of to watch out for with iMovie is to make sure you've got it set to export at 24 frames per second (assuming your ori...

Re: Imported PNG sequence from AE loses color

OK, you owe me an iced coffee. Check your import settings in TVP. They're set to "alpha only", I bet. YES ! That's it ! Thank you , kind sir. (I'll buy you two iced coffees !) I guess slowtiger hit the nail on the head... YES ! For anyone else who experiences this issue , check your import settings...

Re: Recommended Video Editing Software

I've been developing multiple animation projects but in all of them I've ran into the same problem of lag or long periods of loading because I was doing lengthy projects of 2 minutes or more. This was causing significant frustration and stress as my work flow was slowing down. I was trying to figur...

Re: Imported PNG sequence from AE loses color

Is that when you drag'n'drop the file from the finder ? Yes, but I have the same results if I import the file by File Menu > Open/Import -- the PNGs imported into TVPaint are white , no color. The original PNGs exported from After Effects have color. The issue only happens when importing the PNG se...

Re: Imported PNG sequence from AE loses color

I have no problem importing it, the colors are there. With both TVPA 11.0.9 and 11.0.0 Mac Pro, macOS 10.12.6 Interesting. Wow ... what does that mean on my end ? What could it be ? I can import the PNGs from AE to Photoshop , ArtRage , and Toonboom Harmony with the color and transparency intact , ...

Re: Imported PNG sequence from AE loses color

Does AE supports different alpha modes for PNGs ? PNG specs say they are never premultiplied. Here are the options for exporting PNGs from AE: AE_PNG_Export_Options.jpg Changing these settings does not seem to make any difference. Try to export it with the black background, to see if this is not a ...

Re: TVPaint for the Disney feel?

If you want the real "Disney feel" you need to draw every frame by hand. No marionettes, puppets, cut-outs. "Much easier" is not a thing associated with Disney. Importing any bitmap, from whatever source, will not lower quality as long as it's in the correct resolution from the start on. I agree wi...

Imported PNG sequence from AE loses color

I have a strange issue I can not solve. I hope someone can help me discover why this happens. I am importing PNG image sequences back and forth from TVPaint to After Effects, then back to TVPaint. Some of the PNG's have color that is lost when importing the images back into TVPaint. The attached scr...

Re: Forum : ideas and improvements

The forum.tvpaint.com's internal search function has major problems that I believe is costing TVPaint prospective users. It prevents people from finding solutions to problems, and also from easily finding out if they're being redundant with their queries. I think it's counting the landing page acce...
