Re: Open recent

+1. Yes please. I like an odd working software much more than a standard non-working one.

Re: Custom Main Panel

OTOH most users rely on the default selection and position of tools. I think a working solution would be a panel in prefs with all the tools and checkboxes for each: "show" "hide" and "in group X" "not in group". Oh, and all keyboard shortcuts need to be shown there.

Re: how would you do this? a one click fade out button.

Oh yes, like the Hyper Draw View in Logic! On any item in a track, or on the whole track, I can draw a curve for volume, pan, whatever, and change it as often I need. In TVP it would be for opacity only.

Re: how would you do this? a one click fade out button.

Ah! Of course, animated content is different. I remember a project once where I had to do a lot of fades, all of the same length fortunately. So I created a frame filled with colour, extended this to make a fade, then later placed this at the right frame and used as a mask on the animated layer, sel...

Peter, are you sure it doesn't work? It does here all the time!

Re: how would you do this? a one click fade out button.

I'm lazy, so I cut that layer to have the last frame as a new layer, add an empty frame, now stretch this 2-frame layer to the desired fade length with "interpolate".

Re: Camera and Workspace Questions

If you press V, you get your clip in an extra window which has play controls at the bottom. There's a small button for "view with/without camera view". It's also in the Remote panel.

Not now, but this seems to be an interesting feature request. "Link reference video" would be a good term.

Re: Transparency

Just a guess: Apple removed it from the system some time after 10.11 (which still has it).

Re: Transparency

If you export a Quicktime movie, you also must choose the correct codec to get transparency. Select PNG with millions+ colours.

I "fill" this by means of a filled rectangle. Could you incorporate this in the script?

Re: Save project before exporting

Well, I already do that automatically by habit. Save often, be happy. But I can imagine situations where this would be unwanted, like (been there) with projects so large that they need more than a minute to save, so that would cause unwanted delay especially in a pinch (like having the director wait...

Re: export all settings and custom panels

Having a one-click-solution for this would be a sale point for studios ... imagine initializing 10+ TVP workstations with the same production settings by hand!
