Re: Underwater Caustic Effects with Perlin Noise

The funny thing about this "underwater effect" is that you don't see that in nature while underwater. The "underwater ripple" is a film convention, like a speed line in comics. So I'd be totally happy with just a ripple glass being moved across the screen, mimicking the age old effect.

Re: How to create Rounded Shapes Polygon, Square etc

The documentation is misleading: there's no setting anywhere to create shapes with rounded edges.

Re: Crashing on Save

This is just waving dead chickens, but you could try and create some 10 MB files in Photoshop and save, then try TVP again.

Does ist happen when you just save, or also when you save with a completely new name?

And of course the dreaded support question: how much free space is on that drive?

Re: Color change

In space or in time? Both are possible.

Time: a very simple trick is to have 2 versions of the same drawing with different colours. Just stretch this layer with interpolation ON.

Re: Crashing on Save

That's odd, TVP is one of my most stable programs. OK, I can only guess:
- any other software running at the same time?
- same problem with any other program (like Photoshop)?

Re: layered textures

Any mask can only work if there's transparency in the layer. If you want to affect only parts of that photograph, you need to isolate those parts first (by drawing a mask in a new layer).

Re: Moving selected instances in multiple layers

1. Select all affected layers 2. Grab that little handle at the first frame and drag All frames in all selected layers should move the same amount once you release that handle. This only works as long as the frame structure of all layers is the same. You can have 12 frames on ones in one layer and a...

Re: Any tips on a good workflow setup?

The padding of scenes is there because you will want to make small adjustments in the flow - it's not enough to animate frame-exact to the music.

Re: Any tips on a good workflow setup?

After storyboarding it's a good idea to separate the project into separate clips, and make each of them their own project. Don't forget to add some 5 frames at beginning and end of each clip because this allows for adjustments in editing. Animate, then export each clip as an uncompressed video file ...

Re: Export looped clip

It would already be nice if the "last frame" input field in export window would accept larger numbers than the last drawn frame in a clip, so if you have 12 frames set to repeat/loop, you could enter 120 and get a 10x repetition video file. (Just to catch accidental entering of too high numbers, an ...

Re: Best japanese translator ?

From all I've heard any of the automatic translations can only be a first draft for a real human translator to work on. (There was a congress about that recently in Berlin.)
