Blizzard - Cinematics

Post by Fabrice » 27 Jan 2014, 19:01

If you look carefully during the 3 first minutes, there are a lot of TVPaint involved for Storyboards/Animatics :)

And on the Diablo III Reaper of Souls Making Of DVD, we can also see a TVPaint interface :

I'm usually not a big fan of this whole CG visual effects massacre. But the cinematics from blizzard are always a pleasure to watch. Especially some great perspective choices.

As shown minutes ago during BlizzCon, Blizzard is using TVPaint to make an animated series about Overwatch, their new licence :

That's a Wacom Cintiq, one of the bigger models.

Are you sure? I thought it might be but the only model I know of that has similar Express Key configuration (24HD) has a circular Touch Ring which this one does not seem to have.

It has the very same buttons at the sides as my own Cintiq 21 UX.

Blizzard posted a video earlier today teasing the animated series about their new license, Overwatch :

I couldn't help but notice a very familiar software there :

I'm really nobody who dislikes everything CG, but often if you see a direct comparison like here the animation looses some of it dynamic.
