But there is no "Cal Arts style" . That's an invented internet thingy.
It's pretty much a thing actually.

Re: 3d in Tvpaint?

As in being able to be directly integrated with them. Basically like with Toon Boom Harmony, which is compatible with only Maya.

The mult-plane effect is kind of a 3D camera. Very slow though, well on my set-up at least.
Maybe the next version of TVP could be fully compatible with After Effects, as well as various 3d programs like Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema 4d, Blender, etc, along with rendering apps like Renderman and Arnold.

Thundercats Roar

I haven't watched the original 80s cartoon or the 2011 reboot, but I think this was a terrible move to make. Not only did they turn it into a comedy, but are using the CalArts style that so many cartoons are using nowadays.

Travel Oregon: Only Slightly Exaggerated animation

This is very nifty, very much like Studio Ghibli.

Re: Disney's Meander software

So it appears that the new version of Toon Boom has a feature that's just like the tool mentioned above.

Re: Opentoonz seems to be cleaning itself up.

I think the only major thing left that it needs is being able to work in a 3d space, like being able to integrate it with Blender.

Re: 3d in Tvpaint?

We (so including the dev team) try to make the best 2D Animation software ever. So in that context, there are a bunch of options & features that need to be added, fixed, created ... before modeling, rigging, animating and rendering in 3D. While I agree with that, things like a 3d camera would nice ...

Re: Toon Boom Harmony 15 released

Well, honestly, my first thought is : "Does VGmaster9 go on the Toonboom forum and post about when TVPaint releases a new version and ask what are people's thoughts about it ? How does that fly over there ? " Well what might interest TVP users is that the program now has a tool that can emulate bit...

This may very well end up being a direct competitor to Harmony and TVP, and free no less.

Re: Any good example using TVPaint for games?

VGmaster, do you have any reliable source about the use of TVPaint in the making of Cuphead ? I asked on Cartoon Brew if it was animated with Toon Boom, and someone said, "It was drawn and inked on paper, colored in photoshop, then assembled in tv paint . Though some animators used something else. ...

Re: Any good example using TVPaint for games?

I dunno if the game Cuphead counts, while it was drawn and inked on paper and colored on Photoshop, it was scanned on TVP.
