Adobe tells users that they can get sued for using older versions of Photoshop

https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/a3xk3p/adobe-tells-users-they-can-get-sued-for-using-old-versions-of-photoshop?utm_source=reddit.com Adobe is warning some owners of its Creative Cloud software applications that they’re no longer allowed to use older versions of the software. It’s yet another exam...

Re: Adobe Voco: The digital solution to voice actors?

I see. Still though, it would be nice to have a program that can not just be used as a substitute for live voice actors, but also be very efficient at it. It doesn't have to replace voice actors entirely, it can just be a tool used for people who either can't afford to hire voice actors or just use ...

Adobe Voco: The digital solution to voice actors?

I3l4XLZ59iw This looks like a very interesting piece of software. It basically takes samples of people's voices and lets you make your own speeches with their voice. However, you need a 20 minute long sample to be able to use their voice. This could be a great alternative to real voice actors if it...

Hand Drawn - a 2d animation documentary film

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hand-drawn-feature-film?utm_source=affiliate&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=sasdeep&utm_content=link&sscid=b1k2_p562t#/ This looks interesting, but I'm not sure what things it's going to actually talk about. Perhaps about finding cheaper and faster ways to do frame by...

Bird Karma, new short by Dreamworks

https://www.awn.com/animationworld/new-dreamworks-shorts-program-birds-and-marsupials The studio had to create a pipeline for the short because it no longer had one for 2D animation, says Hermann. Despite the handmade look, the film is produced digitally, with the backgrounds painted on paper and th...

Re: Compatability with Toon Boom products

Well, that is an interesting request. If I wanted to be cynical, I would say: Why aren't you posting on Toomboon forums that it would be nice if the next TB version would be able to fully integrate TVPaint Animation ? How would you expect TB to react ? On a more serious note, the likelihood of some...

Compatability with Toon Boom products

Would be nice for the next version of TVPaint be able to fully integrate with Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro. For animation, animators could use the rich drawing tools of TVP, along with the high end features and professional look of Harmony together. For storyboarding, TVP's animatic tools co...

There is beauty in imperfections. The only emotion associated with mechanical perfection is, "Wow! It works!" How is that going to make a story engaging?
Are you saying that this doesn't fit in with frame by frame animation at all?

This looks amazing. This tool would be definitely be quite handy for certain scenes, such as when the camera is turning around the character.

But there is no "Cal Arts style" . That's an invented internet thingy.
It's pretty much a thing actually.

As in being able to be directly integrated with them. Basically like with Toon Boom Harmony, which is compatible with only Maya.

The mult-plane effect is kind of a 3D camera. Very slow though, well on my set-up at least.
Maybe the next version of TVP could be fully compatible with After Effects, as well as various 3d programs like Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema 4d, Blender, etc, along with rendering apps like Renderman and Arnold.

Thundercats Roar

I haven't watched the original 80s cartoon or the 2011 reboot, but I think this was a terrible move to make. Not only did they turn it into a comedy, but are using the CalArts style that so many cartoons are using nowadays.
