So much for being a TVPaint teacher ...^^
I teach animation using TVPaint and I learn new things all the time ! Elodie teaches me things I never knew , and also many of the users here such as Sven, Zig Otto , Mads Juul , Peter Wassink, and others.

Re: Autopaint won't apply ?

After several retrials, I realized that basically, there were no keys created on the Autopaint FX panel (the keys on the timeline are there, but in the FX panels, the key icons are still grey instead of being white on each keys, when normally it should create a key -white icon- to every frame). In ...

Re: A Place for general questions about TVPaint

I have tvpaint 10.5.7 Im trying to figure out how I can turn off autoBreak from a single layer, so i can draw in previous frames without accidentally creating new instances. any help would be apprec...

Re: Attack in Las Vegas...

Thank you. In some ways I think we would all like there to be some meaning , some "purpose" that was behind this apparently random attack, but pending any new evidence that is uncovered it appears to be the hateful act of a single twisted , sick mind. I don't know if we will ever have an adequate " ...

Re: Any good example using TVPaint for games?

According to the video, TVPaint was used for line testing. To me, it sounds a little like using a Ferrari to do your groceries, but who am I to judge ? :P I find this frequently with some of my students and even some professionals I know. Using Photoshop to do everything is so deeply ingrained in t...

Re: No preferences in 11.06?

I mean, could you post a picture or something ? Edit : nevermind, you are talking about "preference" Mac-menu type... You can access them in Edit > Preferences. Which raises a question about the interface design on the Mac version of TVPaint: Why cause confusion for Mac users by having "Preferences...

Re: Any good example using TVPaint for games?

VGmaster, do you have any reliable source about the use of TVPaint in the making of Cuphead ? I asked on Cartoon Brew if it was animated with Toon Boom, and someone said, "It was drawn and inked on paper, colored in photoshop, then assembled in tv paint . Though some animators used something else. ...

Re: Rename instances with respect to Frame Number and Exposures

Bump. Please add options directly in TVPaint to rename instances the way that Mads Juul's 'Tracker Shortcuts Tool' will rename instances respecting the exposure (whether on 1's or 2's , 3's, etc.) of the instances , relative to the frame number the instances are located on. For example: imagine that...

Re: input+Shift locking movement into 45 Degree increments

i'm bumping this because: - it still happens to me a lot on my cintiq - i notice students wrestling with it. - there was no "to do list reaction" yet... this is an annoying function that needs to go! I missed this post when you first made it , but noticed the bump up. I agree . This is an annoying ...

Re: Is there any way to do Toon Shading in the middle part?

This topic may have some information that points you in the right direction on how to make adjustments with the Toonshading FX (and also a clever application of the Drop Shadow FX that Elodie came up with) - https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=10814 In my experience , the Toonshading ...

Re: new Wacom driver for Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra - not until October 2017!

What I don't understand is how it has taken Wacom so long to come up with a compatible driver for 10.13 High Sierra, because the beta version of 10.13 has been available to developers for months now ... unless Apple made some last minute unexpected change to the final release version of 10.13 , whic...

Oh, it just occurred to me that, alternatively, I can render the animated multiplane environment in two passes (FG and BG), and then import those as regular layers in her original cheetah animation project.
I've done that before . It works.

Re: Any good example using TVPaint for games?

Hello morning/evening! This is a odd question. TVPaint is made for film animation. I just curious if there is example or anyone use the program for game development? Such as endless running game? Fighting game? RPG game? Thank you! I remember this one from a few years ago: https://www.tvpaint.com/v...
