Re: How to create Rounded Shapes Polygon, Square etc

In the TVP Documentation it is mentioned using grid but not sure how to get that perfect rounded edge Here is the link https://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index.php?id=lesson-first-steps-guides-grid I would also be interested to know how the grid assists in drawing a square with round corners (unless...

Importing EDL to Premiere

I've never used the Publish > EDL function before . Now I need it to export a project for editing in Premiere. I can't get the EDL to load into Premiere. In the User Manual it says this about EDL : https://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index.php?id=lesson-storyboard-publish-edl EDL export allows to expo...

Re: layered textures

From a bit of fiddling about, it looks like that only works for drawing you specifically do after putting on the masks? And not for the imported photographs I want to use. It seems to me this might be something you could do through the FX Stack to apply the texture to your animation drawings. (best...

Re: Export looped clip

wel... eh... and oops... Found out that it is actually soooooo easy, and I knów I tried it before but I must have made a mistake then, because (and here it comes): - set all layers to loop - set outpoint to some frame in the future Good. This should be added to the User Manual under Exportin...

David,
You might get something like what you want from the OpticalFlowDeform FX.

Thanks for that suggestion. I'm going to try that next.

Bug confirmed on our side.
Next update should correct that :)
Is this with version 11.0.9 on Mac OS (same as here: https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic ... 10&t=13017 ) .
Because guidelines seem to be working ok for me with version 11.0.8 on Mac OS Sierra.

Re: Underwater Caustic Effects with Perlin Noise

The way I would approach it would be to first create the turbulence using perlin noise or plasma on its own layer. Set it to invisible . Then, on a duplicate layer of the actual animation clip to be distorted, use Displacement Mapping (under Distortion)and set the Source as the turbulence layer tha...

Re: Underwater Caustic Effects with Perlin Noise

Cool Stuff!!! :D It's amazing! Maybe you have an idea how to make waves of the tide? Thanks! Tides and waves... No, but that's one of the reasons why I wanted to start engaging the community more, to learn ways to improve my character animation and fx. My knowledge of how to apply perlin noise does...

Keyframer > FX Bin > Add

The feature FX Stack > KeyFramer (or other FX) > Add to the FX Bin is quite useful, except that the list of my saved Keyframer FX added to the FX Bin is now a very long , cluttered list. I know I can Export them to save them in a separate folder until such time as I want to Import them again , and I...

Re: Temporary solution until the problem is solved...

All of the current keyboard shortcuts can be saved using the File/Save Keymap command in the shortcuts window. At least that would save having to enter all the keys again. Two macros could be designed to save (update the stored list if new commands are assigned) and then easily reload for each new ...

Re: Customized Keyboard Shortcuts Disappearing ?

I've fixed this for mates by deleting the config file. I supposed that could be a last resort , as it can be very time consuming to restore all of one's previous custom settings. As the user manual states: " * When a configuration is deleted, all effects, brushes, palettes, shortcuts… used previous...

Customized Keyboard Shortcuts Disappearing ?

I was watching a livestream on YouTube by Joanna Davidovich , animating with TVPaint. Starting around the 50:22 mark here: https://youtu.be/0OUTMwlAlj8?t=3022 she is talking about customizing keyboard shortcuts in TVPaint and some frustration she has with shortcuts in TVPaint … at the 50:31 mark she...

Re: Stroke Animation option

You have to use the 'Dot' shape instead of 'Stroke'. AH! That's it ! Thank you , EMatecki ! (it even says that in the user manual page and I glossed right over that). I knew I had been able to make it work before , but I had completely forgotten that it much be the Dot , not the Stroke.

https://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index.php?id=lesson-tradigital-animation-advanced-further-details-stroke-animator "This option allows you to draw over several frames. With the [Ctrl] key pressed during the drawing, the current frame will change automatically. This feature is really useful to anima...
