Re: Framed Ink Marcos Mateu-Mestre BRUSHES

Framed Ink is a wonderful book! I believe you could accomplish anything in that book with the Pen brush in TVPaint. The aspect is about 50% (so it looks like a calligraphic nib instead of a circle), and the angle looks like 45 degrees. Turn off anti-aliasing and bind size to pressure. That's it! Th...

Re: Unable to use the Light Table on imported images

Look into the Scan Cleaner FX. That will get you where you want to be.

Re: Windows 10 Interface Scaling

I agree with this, I wish there were a 1.5 scaling ratio.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts on window 10 not responding

On Windows machines, there is an area in the lower right corner of the taskbar (bottom of the screen) called the tray: tray.PNG This shows what happens when I click on the upward-pointing arrow on the leftmost part of the tray: the little blue box pops up with more items that might be hidden from vi...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts on window 10 not responding

Check if there is another utility or application on your machine that is intercepting keyboard shortcuts. I have had this happen several times.

And you're right to ask the question again, for we have new plans regarding an iOS version.

Re: Opentoonz seems to be cleaning itself up.

OpenToonz is, to be blunt, a UI nightmare. The Morevna branch is admirable, but it is a kludge of multiple open-source products that are in no way production ready. OT is being used for feature films because Toonz has been used for feature films for years prior to being made open-source. I have no d...

Linux: Custom stylus buttons not working when set by xsetwacom

OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64-bit Hardware: Lenovo X200T TabletPC (Wacom penabled) TVPaint Pro 11.0.6 64-bit The "Wacom tablet" control panel in Ubuntu doesn't allow you to map the side switches of the tablet pen to keystrokes. I have an old Axiotron Modbook stylus with dual side-switches, and like to mak...

Re: Various stuff made with TVPaint

Benjamin, this example is very interesting to me! I am always recommending TVPaint to other animators, but most of the examples of TVP at its best are more "sketchy." The hand-drawn look makes the most of what TVP has to offer. For more slick, stylized, and graphical designs, I often think of animat...

New software: Storyboarder

For a while I have been following the progress of Charles Forman's application "Storyboard Fountain." It looks like the software has been renamed Storyboarder and is now free for Windows, Mac and Linux! https://wonderunit.com/storyboarder/ It's based on Pitch Docter, Pixar's in-house animatic tool, ...

Re: Disney's Meander software

I agree with you, schwarzgrau. Knowing nothing much about the pipelines for CG films (or professional studio films, aside from what I've been able to glean from books), I wonder how much of these technologies are based on the goal of producing hand-drawn looks without worrying about hiring people wh...

Re: A Question about Tablet PC, Android and Nomad

I'm quite tempted to investigate the NEW Surface Pro systems that have been released in 2017. One reason is that the new stylus now supports tilt! (I am crazy about this, I care far more about it than is probably reasonable. :P ) They have changed the stylus system so many times over the years that ...

Features for the Export Menu

- It would be nice to limit the export range to image mark sets. I was trying to export JUST my keys and breakdowns earlier and found it difficult to do so. - Likewise, it would be cool to have some variable syntax in the file naming for export. So instead of having JUST (filename-001.png) and so on...

Re: Are timing charts still relevant?

One other thing -- here is a video of Toniko Pantoja doing some inbetweening. In this video, he shows in great detail how his planning thought process develops into the charts he uses to inbetween. It's a long video but I learned a great deal from it:
