Re: Zoom limitation for sanity

Though there is something about having a hard limit (TVP won't zoom beyond x) that I like for reasons of creative flow - a little bit like apps that don't have an Undo option for conceptual reasons. i see what you mean and i can relate. though the flip side is yet another little setting switch that...

Re: TVPaint crashes immediatly after starting the program.

Hello Team, can someone look into this? Or does anyone else have some suggestion? i have no idea, whats up with the issue you have Thomas. maybe you could try a different version of tvpaint? not sure if you have access to that? but if you do you should be able to see all TVPaint versions your licens...

Re: Locking the timeline

also, using frame markers can go a long way in helping to keep layers aligned when editing them.
but i agree totally that a way of locking layers together would be a very important improvement.

Re: Zoom limitation for sanity

no, i don't see a need for this.

though i recognize that situation (been there. :P )

what i recommend for you is opening an extra view window (shortcut=m) at 100%
so you can see what you are doing at normal resolution

Re: Locking the timeline

This request comes down to (or is similar to) wanting to have folders in the layer panel, And this is a very longstanding request that apparently is not possible in the current architecture of the software. The colorgroups were introduced years ago as sort of a workaround solution. to at least get s...

Re: Locking the timeline

if the multple layers belonging to the character have the same break-up to start with. (i mean how the layer is cut up into instances) you can make sure to do your time editing, by first selecting all the layers that belong together, then when you edit one layer the other selected layers will automa...

Re: Global inverse stencil

ran into this one again. its tricky to get your head around but the stencil set-up is missing some result options. these are the current options when combining two layers: stencil bug-revisited2.png i guess what i miss is the possibility to invert these results. 2 and 3 can be inverted (2>5 and 3>6)...

Re: Locking the timeline

no "halfway layer lock" as such... but do you know that if you use the top-left 'instance handle' (one of two tiny grey squares inside each instance) TVPaint respects all the timing after...? And sometimes to be sure nothing shifts...for this purpose i use an image mark on the frame i want to remain...

Re: FXstack management

i just wanted to add to this, to emphesize how important i feel this subject is.\ because the FX in tvpaint are destructive in nature (i.e you cannot dynamicly keep changeing them, once aplied they become pixels) it is al the more important that you can easily redo an fx later. especially in a large...

Re: Using Library for global access?

if a library is only local to the project you might just as well put the images in a layer or clip. only a global library can truly offer advantages to bigger projects: using the content for: Modelsheets, color palettes, and references Maybe its not possible with the current set-up but it think a wa...

Re: Volumetric Light controls

you could do this: (see image) Screenshot from 2018-09-18 14-14-45.png its the vol.light FX applied on a layer with a blackshape. if you animate that black shape than this will dictate the movement of your shimmer, and the beams will have the correct angle as determined by the distance source point....

Re: Volumetric Light controls

did you try the "Image Source" FX"?
it can be found in the FXpanel under "color" and it channels whatever you choose to be the source for the subsequent stacked fx's
