Re: Question about footage import

Thanks for the explanation! That was very helpful.

It did make more sense to me to use Import to Layer but because the audio didn't also get imported after enabling the option, I thought maybe I was importing the footage incorrectly. As you noted, perhaps this is a bug?

Re: Question about footage import

A little more info. When I create the new project file, there is a blank layer already there of course. I'm guessing when I import the video footage, it's replacing this blank clip, at least on the Clip Timeline. Which may explain why I see two items on the timeline under the Project tab. What I don...

Question about footage import

I have a question about importing video footage with audio into TV Paint. I'm helping my daughter set up scenes for her to animate for a school project. She created an animatic in a video editor and we exported all the scenes as individual video clips with audio, which I'm importing to TV Paint for ...

Re: How to delete template

Ah, I found them. Located here: C:\Users\[User Account]\AppData\Roaming\tvp animation 11 pro\default\templates The directory will need to be unhidden by the user to find this, of course. It will still be more helpful if we got a UI button for this. Thanks in advance for considering this feature requ...

How to delete template

Hi, I was wondering how does one delete a custom template? I see how to save a template but I haven't seen info on removing a template that's no longer needed. I thought it would be a matter of going into the template directory but I only see the default templates there, not custom ones. Then I thou...

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

Aha! Okay, I think I get it. The FX Stack works differently from what I'm used to or expected. The Apply button is actually an animation generator, rather than a modifier. So when I use the multi-plane project as the source for BG/FG layers in the 'in-place cycle' project, Apply FX is rendering diff...

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

Thanks, Slow Tiger. No hurry. I probably won't get back to this myself before the weekend. :)

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

I'm not able to test at the moment, but is there a way to 'hide' a layer in the Multiplane interface? I recall seeing an Opacity property for layers--would I use that, or is there a proper visibility switch?

Thanks in advance for any info. I'll try to check it out when I get home later this evening.

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

- have animated walk in place in one project, and animated multiplane setup in second project - in first project, open FX > Keyframer and choose second project as source - in second project, switch off foreground layers - in first project, apply FX to empty BG layer - in second project, switch off ...

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

Hi Fabrice, Could you try again? I replaced the link with a longer version. The original link works here but since the movie has partial privacy settings enabled, I wonder if you need the longer version of the link. This link will probably change in a few weeks when we post Sienna's movie on our web...

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

Sienna finished her short film and, as promised, here's a sneak preview for this thread: https://vimeo.com/235299806/5049fa51ca 235299806 Today she's submitting her short to a student arts competition. I'm astonished by how quickly she learned how to use TVPaint, and I can't wait to see what she doe...

Re: Color wheel and palette open at same time?

Ok, thanks for the reply. :)

In the meantime, if anybody else needs this, I'm just dabbing 'swatch' colors in 'palette' layer. This way I can keep the Color Wheel open and not have to switch to sample the color dabs. I just need to be sure I'm back on that layer when adding colors.

Color wheel and palette open at same time?

This is probably a basic question (I'm still fairly new to TVPaint) but is it possible to open the color wheel and the color swatch palette at the same time? Unless I'm missing something (very possible,) it seems like I can only display one or the other at a time. I thought perhaps I could open two ...

Re: Lock Layer to Camera?

Thank you, Elodie! I'll be sure to check out your videos tomorrow.

Sienna got her animations completed. Tomorrow we're finishing the soundFX and then she's working on the music score. It's looking very cute...but then I'm biased. :D

I'll post a link when she's finished with her project.
