Re: Video nested in a perspective monitor at a street scene

For a static video: 1. Create project, create a perspective rectangle as a reference 2. Import video, go to frame 1 of it 3. Select Warp tool in the Main Panel, distort video to your liking, hit Enter 4. Undo, select all frames of video, hit enter twice. Or: 1. Create project, create a perspective r...

Re: Spritesheet Generator

I wonder if something could be done with the help of the grid. Import image, adjust grid so it separates all items, then cut along grid lines?

Re: Importing a colour PNG with a transparent background

You can import a PSD file with all layers intact.
To import a PNG with alpha, please refer to the PS manual about saving images with transparency.

Re: Interface like Pitch Docter-2 from PIXAR?

Ideally the arrangement of panels should be just a matter of personal preference, so people coming from different backgrounds feel at home immediately.

Re: auto paint

it always spills over others area Without seeing an example of your line work, this is really a broad claim. Area detection can only be that good on non-closed areas. Closed areas will get recognised without fail. But to expect an algorithm to work flawlessly in any situation of broken lines is a b...

Re: Instance and Keyframer questions

Well, in that case you need to animate that character's transition from walk to stop (and more action) and then to walk again anyway. And it's totally possible to use the Keyframer for only a range of frames, and for its source to start from a certain frame ( offset ), so if you really need this you...

Re: auto paint

Wouldn't agree to that. From my experience with colouring in Animo and Toonz I'd say a randomly coloured frame doesn't have any advantage. In that classic workflow, one would check for this after colouoring the scene: 1. Is every area filled? (There was a silhouette mode for this.) 2. Does every are...

Re: Custom brush info needed

litho.tvpx Have a look at this one. I created it to mimick lithographic shadings from around 1900. It's very light, and gives a satisfying organic look when applied at the same place with more and more pressure, creating very nuanced shading. Here's the TVP file with all the bitmaps I used. You can...

Re: Disney's Meander software

It's not so much about trade secrets (after all, there are not so many in this field), it's about Disney's marketing strategy. Talking about a certain production technique was always part of their marketing, that's why you'll find nicely illustrated articles about the multiplane camera in old issues...

Re: time line improment

I just have an empty keyframe there, stretched as long as I need it.

(But it would be nice if TVP could detect a completely empty frame and colour-code it ...)

Re: Particles:: Animation mode missing

OK, I exported every single snowflake separately, then put them into particles via duplicating/renaming particle, click shape, browse ... and this 26times. I really hate to work like this with a computer, this is the sort of job it is supposed to be good at! I've noticed some more things: the little...

Particles:: Animation mode missing

So there I had the idea of creating snow with lots of different flakes. Put 2 dozens of them into an AnimBrush and saved that, then used this as souce in Particle FX. BUT: while in brush mode I have the animation option "random and hold" , this isn't present in the FX menu. I tried what was there, b...

Re: Disney's Meander software

I'm definitely not frightened of the prospect of this or similar software being used for a feature film. The animation of that will still be CGI, just the texture will be a bit different from what the audience is used to. It's just another option in production design. I even expect a bit more genera...

Re: Specific Image Sequence Numbering

On my Mac TVP creates these filenames (with double points) without problems. A word of caution though: while these filenames may work in your current situation, they may cause trouble in any larger and especially in a mixed environment. To avoid trouble, restrict file names to: A-Z 0-9 -_ Avoid usin...
