Re: Painterly look in TV Paint

There was a "promoted article" (=advertisement) about a film in production doing just that in TVP on cartoonbrew.com https://www.cartoonbrew.com/sponsored-by-tvpaint/preview-how-tvpaint-is-used-to-create-a-painterly-look-for-nolwenn-roberts-new-short-sams-dream-164691.html (Would be nice to have an ...

Re: Need Help with how to set up a modifier

I don't know about the shuttle, but would think that you first have to assign your actions to a keyboard shortcut in the prefs, and go from there.

Re: enregistrement de calque

Do you need a sprite sheet export function? I think there's a script for that.

Re: Animated paper textures

+1.

I needed this for my last film and used this workaround: paint any 3rd frame only, then rotate the paper 30°, paint first unpainted frames, rotate 60°, paint anything left. This was good enough to create the illusion of unlimited paper.

You have to open a new project as "Project with camera".

Re: How to do a simple camera zoom-in?

Look up "Camera" in the manual then. It's under 8. storyboard > animatic.

Debut or Pro? The camera tool is Pro only.

Export range of frames

The request to restore v10 behaviour in the export panel seems a good opportunity to improve that whole thing. I like to suggest this: 1. Like now, type in start and end frames - but Mark Out should allow to be higher than last content frame in timeline. (This is to make use of "repeat frames" witho...

Re: Files empty when sharing with others

Also possible: she's using Debut, you're using Pro, your file has more than 1 clip, she's only seeing the first, empty clip. Go into project view to check.

Re: Compatibility between versions 10, and 11.0.8?

TVP files are interchangeable between versions, thankfully. Only new features from 11 like the new colouring layers (pro only) are not available in 10.

Re: Text Font Roll-over Preview

-1. Against it. On systems with many fonts installed this can slow down the application immensely. Happens with others already.

If this would be an option whitch is switched off by default, I'm OK with that.

Re: File size growing unusually large

I do my animatics even smaller, like 1280 x 720 - good enough to draw, good enough to show. I can always blow up a scene when I start animating if necessary.

Yes, he definitely needs to break up his film into 41 separate project files!

Re: Gray areas of paper drawings are showing

The Histogram, like many FX, only works with RGB values, not with alpha, so applying it after the Scan Cleaner doesn't work. You need to test it with one of your original scans where the white and grey areas are still opaque. (It's the same in Photoshop.) Your workflow should be: 1. scan 2. Histogra...
