Re: Compatibility between versions 10, and 11.0.8?

TVP files are interchangeable between versions, thankfully. Only new features from 11 like the new colouring layers (pro only) are not available in 10.

Re: Text Font Roll-over Preview

-1. Against it. On systems with many fonts installed this can slow down the application immensely. Happens with others already.

If this would be an option whitch is switched off by default, I'm OK with that.

Re: File size growing unusually large

I do my animatics even smaller, like 1280 x 720 - good enough to draw, good enough to show. I can always blow up a scene when I start animating if necessary.

Yes, he definitely needs to break up his film into 41 separate project files!

Re: Gray areas of paper drawings are showing

The Histogram, like many FX, only works with RGB values, not with alpha, so applying it after the Scan Cleaner doesn't work. You need to test it with one of your original scans where the white and grey areas are still opaque. (It's the same in Photoshop.) Your workflow should be: 1. scan 2. Histogra...

Re: Keeping file size down

(15gig). It's about 4 minutes, has quite a few layers and FX. In that case the size seems right. I had large projects as well, TVP is amazingly capable of handling these. If your computer allows (much RAM, fast disks, preferably SSD) you can continue to work with just one file, but you will lose ti...

The free Open Android version is compatible with Android 5 and above.
Previous versions of Android won't be able to run it.
Yesterday I saw a BOOX Prometheus https://onyxboox.com/boox_prometheus in the wild. Pretty impressive, but it seems it only runs Android 4.0.4, and has only 1 GB of RAM.

Re: Playback preview during multiplane FX

12 Layers is a lot for smooth playback in any software. I do my multiplane setups in Moho (faster setup), but previewing it is slow. I can speed it up a bit with reducing the view, but for testing a smooth run I have to render to video.

Re: Thundercats Roar

I've heard of a CalArts Style in the 90's, and it was completely different from this one. I think the mechanism works like this: for whatever reason, different shows feature very similar styles at any point in time. At any given time, several CalArts alumni work on some of these shows. Correlation i...

Re: 2 layers of the same colour create strange edges after export

The two multiply settings make sense when exporting stuff which will be bright elements on dark or dark elements on bright, since they tint the feathered outline to bright or dark, respectively. I just can't ever remember which does which, so I do a test every time ...

Re: 2 layers of the same colour create strange edges after export

Have a test and export the upper layer with 1. pre-muliplied alpha 2. without pre-multiplied alpha. Import to AFX and render. On of the should work fine now. Remember that you have setings in AFX as well about how to treat alpha. Write down the setting (in both programs) that works and stick to it.

Re: Random frames in AnimBrush

I should add that making this work as expected (using a brush with RANDOM over a selected range of frames by re-apply) would make it so much easier to create "moving holds" or "boiling lines".

Re: Could virtual studios become a thing?

Of course the idea of "virtual studios" will sound intriguing to producers, because it means rent and electricity bills and even the hardware will be paid by someone else for, so they can argue they need to pay you less. In praxi this will not work well especially for beginners. As you correctly sai...

Re: Random frames in AnimBrush

I've noticed this. BUT: if you just step forward a frame, don't move the mouse, and click into each frame, RANDOM works. It also should work to advance one frame, hit re-apply, advance, etc.

I agree it should work with any range of frames selected as well.
