Re: Cacani 2d software with automatic inbetweening done right

But by generally established standards it is considered unethical to discuss the workings of other software on the forum of the current software. I understand that references are fair information, but to carry over another software's merits and demerits on this forum just because they have no forum ...

Re: Gray areas of paper drawings are showing

Try Color Replacer in the FX stack. It's a very simple and instinctive gadget under "color" in the search menu.

Re: Key Framer and manual positioning of drawings

I find the simplest way to go about this is laying down only the number 1. walk and then manually matching each opening frame to the ground's layer moving gradually into full speed and slowing down at the end by again nudging the few off frames to match the ground. This really is easier and takes le...

Re: Cacani 2d software with automatic inbetweening done right

I still prefer to hand-draw my characters, but for things like fire, smoke, explosions, glimmer effects, plants and props it's sooo good not having to tween that stuff anymore. But why even those elements? I prefer 2D films where the animator brings imagination and a personal touch to animate even ...

Re: Cacani 2d software with automatic inbetweening done right

I am not saying that. I am trying to make a point that it makes little sense to animate 2D films in a hand drawn app so that they look as close to 3D animation as current technology will permit. There is beauty in the imperfectly drawn animation that will always be missing in computer generated line...

Re: Cacani 2d software with automatic inbetweening done right

There is beauty in imperfections. The only emotion associated with mechanical perfection is, "Wow! It works!" How is that going to make a story engaging?

Re: Add Text Tool to Timeline Notes

So I'm curious; what's it for? to make general notes between collaborators when projects are shared? Actually I do that too, for instance to warn Sandra that some images are using tracker. it makes sense

Re: Add Text Tool to Timeline Notes

But please don't abandon handwritten notes because that's the best way to annotate accents, changing volume of voiceover, shifting moods.... on and on, even little drawings of facial expressions and squiggly lines and other symbols to annotate music.

Re: Keeping file size down

In my workflow I actually make sure to have a working soundtrack first (which will likely change over time so I refer to it as a scratch track) and then assemble my animatics to the tracks in Vegas. Next, I transfer the soundtrack that covers each animatic clip into TVP, placing these individual tra...

Re: Keeping file size down

Exactly! I am not familiar with Premiere anymore since I gave it up years ago for Vegas but I understand that Both NLEs (standing for "nonlinear editing" which is carryover terminology from the days of videotape editing) are at the same mature levels these days. The learning curve to get into editin...

Re: Keeping file size down

I wonder if you you use an NLE to assemble your clips or are you relying entirely on TVP for every step of your production's completion? It sounds to me that you do not use an NLE and if that is the case my advice is that you consider getting one.

Re: image library

I certainly agree with the need to have the availability of global imagery if for model sheets alone so wouldn't it make sense to have dual libraries; one for global, the other project specific?

I am absolutely with you and this is a deficiency I have been bothered by from the very beginning. I hope this won't be a difficult improvement to fix soon.
